TROY - Troy residents, mark your calendars.
Troy Borough Council has made an adjustment in its regular monthly meeting schedule for 2014.
According to council president Krystle Bristol, the time and day of the meetings have been changed to 7 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month, beginning in March.
They will be held, as always, at the Allen F. Pierce Free Library in Troy.
The next meeting is March 27, according to the calendar on the borough's website.
At its meeting this week, council made the adjustment.
The change was needed as a result of the library extending its hours.
At the first evening meeting of the year this week, there was "pretty average attendance," Bristol said.
She said there were "a couple more people there than normal," in addition to representatives from various businesses and an engineering firm.
In the past, some residents had tried to get the previous council to hold night meetings, but were unsuccessful.
The new council is a blend of some incumbents who won re-election and some new council members, Mark Colton and Kyle Wisel. The incumbents who won re-election are Bristol and Jennifer Malehorn, now the council vice president; and James Warn.
When asked for comment previously, one proponent of night meetings, Aaron Wagner, said he thought council's decision to hold night meetings was "excellent."
"I think what it's showing is they're starting to be more responsive to the wishes of a lot of people in the community."
