A large winter storm system working its way east is likely to miss Bradford County and nearby areas, according to Saturday forecasts by the National Weather Service.
In a Saturday briefing, forecasters at the NWS in Binghamton, N.Y. cautioned that uncertainty remained in the snow's track. However, the projected track had shifted further south than originally anticipated Saturday, bringing only light snow to the area Sunday and Monday.
The NWS expects the storm to have little impact, but the forecast still has potential to change as the weekend progresses, forecasters warned.
Areas throughout Bradford County are expected to receive snow accumulations of less than two inches through Sunday night, according to Saturday forecasts.
However, the blustery wind chills that have been characteristic of this winter may return Sunday night, according to the NWS. Wind chills could reach or surpass 10 degrees below zero late Sunday and early Monday.
Temperatures Sunday are expected to reach the mid-twenties throughout Bradford County, according to the NWS. Low temperatures Sunday night are forecast to drop to single digits.
Highs Monday are forecast to be in the mid to high teens, dropping to just below zero Monday night.
