MONTOURSVILLE - A PennDOT bridge crew in Bradford County will begin a bridge deck replacement project on Route 1053 (Sugar Cabin Road) in the village of West Warren in Warren Township on Monday, March 31.
The existing 60'-long bridge over Wappasening Creek, near the intersection with Route 1049 (LeRaysville Road), was built in 1969.
The existing one-span timber deck will be removed so the bridge crew can pour a new concrete deck and parapets. Work will include repairs at the abutments and new guiderail at the approaches to the bridge.
Traffic will be detoured while the work is under way. The detour will go into place March 31 and will follow LeRaysville Road, Route 187 and Orwell Hill Road.
The bridge is scheduled to be reopened to traffic by early June.
