A Waverly man charged in the September 2012 robbery of an Athens Township pharmacy was recently sentenced to 12 to 36 months confinement.
Eric D. Satterly, 28, was also ordered to pay $2,000 in fines and $1,251.99 in restitution during a Feb. 27 sentencing in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, according to information filed with the court. Satterly pleaded guilty in January to one count of terroristic threats and one count of theft by unlawful taking, both first-degree misdemeanors.
Township police charged Satterly with robbery, robbery with threat of bodily injury, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property following the Sept. 8, 2012 robbery at the Rite-Aid store in the Valley Shopping Plaza on Elmira Street, according to a criminal complaint filed by police with the court.
During the robbery, Satterly, wearing a bandage around his face, a black baseball cap and blue shirt, handed a note to store staff demanding fentanyl patches, according to police. Satterly told staff to "just go get what you need to get" and "don't push any buttons" to alert law enforcement, police said. Satterly then fled north on foot.
A search outside Satterly's apartment building on Pine Street in Waverly turned up evidence of the robbery, including the blue shirt, a note pad with the same type of paper used for the note in the robbery, an empty fentanyl patch package and a partial roll of bandage resembling the one Satterly had used to wrap his face, according to police.
Waverly village police arrested Satterly two days later as a fugitive from justice after executing a search warrant on his apartment.
