Past winners Athens, Owego Free Academy and Tioga Central will join North Rome Christian School at the March 22, finals of the Choice Radio "Scholarship Challenge."

The four qualifiers advanced through the brackets over the past two and a half months, to reach the finals in the quest for the coveted Kwaskoski Cup. The winning school will earn $3000 from the overall purse of more than $7000.

The first semi-final will match up the two New York schools in the championship field: O-F-A and Tioga. That contest will be followed by the two Pennsylvania combatants: NRCS and Athens. Then the last match of the year, the championship, will feature the winners.

The teams on stage on March 22, own eight scholarship challenge titles among them, with Tioga attempting to become the first five time winner of Choice Radio's multiple award winning high school quiz.

Twenty-four teams representing eight Twin Tier Counties began the challenge in late January. The finals will air live on Choice Radio (WATS 960 AM/WAVR 102.1 FM) beginning at noon on March 22. The public is welcome to attend the matches in person, in the Guthrie Patterson Education Building Auditorium in Sayre.
